If this is the first time you've visited our PIC of the Day page...Welcome! If you've been to this page before, then you already know it doesn't change daily. PIC stands for Portable Imaging Computer. The PIC gives you all the features of the most powerful desktop computers while offering a level of portability and convenience that can only be matched by a laptop. But, just try putting your RGB framegrabber, your network adapter, your modem, and your CD-Recorder all in a laptop at the same time. PIC's are built with full-size desktop style motherboards and, as a result, allow you maximum expandability.
And, for those of you who would also wish to use your laptop at your desk with a docking station, you still have that ability. When working in the office, leave the detachable keyboard locked in place, and simply plug in your existing monitor, keyboard and mouse and you are ready to work. When you have to take the PIC on the road, unplug those items, drop the PIC in its shoulder bag, or custom hardshell case, and you're out the door.
